James Storey

James Storey

James Storey is the eldest son of the Storey Racing Team (SRT), and is the driver of the number 66, 602 Late Model, Pro Late Model and Super Late Model. At just 19 years old, James is a veteran of the track, he and his brother have been crewing with the patriarch of SRT, Chris Storey since the age of six years old. Since that very first memory of watching his dad race, he knew that is what he wanted to drive a racecar.

At thirteen years old in 2016 that opportunity came in the bandit division. With just three outings to get educated in driving and racing, success had been achieved.

When 2017 arrived James and SRT set out to race fulltime in the bandit division at Dells Raceway Park. This season would show everyone the things to come as James Storey develops as a driver. A first feature win and a fourth-place finish in the season final points standing, showed James was going to be a front runner right from the start. This front running position was no shot in the dark, 2018 brought another feature win and the consistent front running feature finishes produced the Bandit Division Championship at Dells Raceway Park.

SRT and James took on a new challenge in2019 and moved to the 602 Late Model division at Dells Raceway Park. That front running and winning pattern continued early on in James’s 602 Late Model career. In just his second feature appearance James was a winner again. This consistency was rewarded with a second-place finish in the season ending standing, James was awarded the 602 Late Model Rookie of the year.

In 2020, James and SRT continued in the growing 602 Late Model Series. SRT and James did not have the season they had hoped for with just an eighth-place finish in the season ending points standing. It was just one of those racing seasons, they were still able to promote all their partners on the car and interact with the fans.

A new challenge was taken on by SRT and James with the addition of a Pro Late Model. James was going to do double duty and run full time in both the 602 Late Models as well as the Pro Late Models, both at the Dells Raceway Park. Both divisions are highly competitive, finishing 14th in the final points standing in the Pro Late Model division and another eighth-place finish in the final points standings and garnering another feature win in the 602 Late Models.

SRT and James took on one of their biggest challenges to date, participating at World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida in the Pro Late Model division. Competing in seven out of eight events contested James and SRT finished 14th out of thirty-eight competitors. A racing incident stopped them from participating in the final night of competition. This excellent start to the season, at a new track, against many of the best Pro Late Model racers in North America, this now places James in second place in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Rookie of the Year, nationally.

James and SRT off a wide variety of opportunities for your company to create branding programs. James is seeking a 602 Late Model Championship, James will be contesting for the Rookie of the Year Award with the TUNDRA Racing Series, events with the Big 8 Late Model Series and with the right partnership would pursue the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Rookie of the Year.

James is an excellent choice as a spokesperson, he is well spoken and a consistent front runner. The SRT cars are always well prepared and always have a showroom look to them. James and SRT would be an excellent fit for a statewide branding program with an impression reach with a regional footprint. Do not miss the millions of impressions available by partnering with SRT and James.
