Clayton Storey

Clayton Story is the youngest member of the two-generation race team Storey Racing Team (SRT). Clayton is a sixteen-year veteran of the racetrack as his mother started taking to the track not long after being born. Starting his crew position at 6 years old with his dad and brother, Clayton knows how to build or rebuild any car the team has.

Clayton was not sure the opportunity to drive would come about. In 2021 Clayton started piloting the number 67 in the 602 Late Model Division at Dells Raceway Park. Clayton showed consistency during the 2021 campaign with four top ten feature finishes and a heat race win. These were at Dells Raceway Park these finishes placed Clayton as tenth in the final point standings at the Dells Raceway Park. The season was highlighted with a sixth-place finish at Madison International Speedway during the prestigious Joe Shear Classic.

For 2022, SRT and Clayton will be competing in fourteen 602 Late Model Events covering in person events in Southern and Central Wisconsin. Clayton has a growing fan base and has the potential to expand greatly with this schedule. This fourteen-race schedule will allow Clayton to challenge for two different championships; Clayton’s consistency should put him right in the middle of the title fight for the inaugural 602 Outlaw Late Model Series. This touring series will cover the Milwaukee, Madison, and Wisconsin Dells markets. This touring experience and consistency should move Clayton up the season ending points standings at Dells Raceway Park. Clayton will have other opportunities in 2022 that will include his debut in the Pro Late Model division.

The 602 Outlaw Late Model Series is a support division for several high-profile short track events throughout Central and Southern Wisconsin. Covering several major metropolitan areas creates a solid statewide footprint for in person attendance. As one of the fresh new faces of racing his following is only going to expand exponentially.
